Bioforest
A laboratory for the regeneration of the environment
BIOFOREST is a socially useful non-profit Association independent of any political party or religious confession that was set up three years ago at the wish of a group of industrialists and entrepreneurs who looked towards a new pattern for furthering compatibility between industry and the protection of the environment.
Their commitment aims to reduce the consumption of energy and raw materials in production, eliminate the use of toxic materials and carry out more appropriate research and technological innovation directed towards respecting the natural environment.
For this purpose, the relationships between developed countries and developing countries are fundamental in order to work towards a shared and balanced use of the Earth’s natural resources and to enable us to preserve our natural wealth and pass the same resources that we have inherited to future generations.
BIOFOREST undertakes above all (but not only) to promote a new culture in the industrial world, one that is capable of assuming its responsibilities and ready to take active steps towards restoring and safeguarding the world’s natural resources.
A new alliance between Industry and Environment, designed to convey an important signal: a serious and long-lasting commitment.
In accordance with its by-laws, the Association proposes to:
- bring together all those who intend to devote themselves to the recovery and recreation of forest ecosystems that have been destroyed or damaged both in Italy and throughout the world;
- finance reforestation projects in respect of natural and original ecosystems and even purchase the areas concerned, if necessary;
- encourage and support scientific research work in the areas where action is being taken, using the most up-to-date technologies;
- promote information and awareness campaigns concerning the projects, various initiatives and events organised by the Association in schools of all levels, universities and research centres;
- involve the media and public opinion by means of debates, conferences, meetings and other events concerning the activities carried out, paying maximum attention to related environmental problems and the ways of establishing a proper and harmonious relationship between man and nature;
- spread more respect for the fundamental principles of ecology such as recycling, reduction in the consumption of energy and raw materials, elimination of toxic substances from production processes.

PROJECT SUPPORTERS:
A group of companies keenly supports the Bioforest association which has carried out a series of reforestation projects. These companies have developed a new production philosophy no longer based only on the search for profit, but also on the search for ways to lower the environmental impact. Foppapedretti S.p.A. is one of the 11 companies which has joined this association. The setting up of the Bioforest project has been made possible thanks to the many members and supporters with their strong sense of commitment and passion. At present, Bioforest has set up four pilot projects for environmental recovery: the Otanga operations, the Occhione project and the preservation of the Vinchiaruzzo karst springs in Italy.
